Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information the Wordnap game (“the app”, “we”) collects, why, and how it is handled. Word Buddies is a word-puzzle game. You can play the entire game without creating an account or providing any personal information. Signing in is optional and is used only to sync your game progress across your devices.
Information we collect
- Game progress (always, stored on your device). Your levels completed, stars, coins, unlocked cosmetics, chosen companion, and best solve times are saved locally on your device so you can keep playing offline. This never leaves your device unless you choose to sign in.
- Google account information (only if you sign in). If you choose “Sign in with Google”, we receive your Google account’s email address, display name, profile picture, and a unique Google account identifier. We use these solely to identify your account so your game progress can be synced.
- Cloud-saved game progress (only if you sign in). When signed in, the same game-progress data listed above is stored on our server, linked to your Google account identifier, so it can be restored on your other devices.
What we do NOT collect
- No advertising identifiers and no ads.
- No analytics or tracking SDKs.
- No location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera access.
- No payment information (the app has no purchases).
How we use the information
Account information and cloud-saved progress are used only to provide the sync feature you asked for : identifying your account and restoring your game state across devices. We do not use your information for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell it.
Sharing
We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties. The only third party involved is Google, which provides the sign-in (authentication) service when you choose to sign in. Google’s handling of your Google account is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
Data storage and retention
Local game progress remains on your device until you clear the app’s data or uninstall the app. Cloud-saved progress and account information are retained on our server for as long as your account is active. You can sign out at any time from the app’s settings, which removes your session from that device.
Deleting your data
To request deletion of your cloud-saved progress and the account information associated with your Google account, contact us at the email below and we will delete it. Clearing the app data or uninstalling the app removes all locally stored progress from your device.
Children’s privacy
Wordnap is family-friendly and contains no ads and no third-party tracking. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond the optional Google sign-in described above, which requires a Google account. If you believe a child has provided account information and you would like it removed, contact us.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
